In a monotonous game caused by referee Robert Buontempo and his crew, Hamrun lost to 'champions' Hibernians by 3 goals to nil. Graham Bencini and captain Charlo Magro were sent off during the first 30mins of the match for mysterious reasons that only Mr. Buontempo knows. 9-men Hamrun controlled well their opponents until half time which ended in a goalless draw. But Hamrun with 2 players missing find it difficult to keep this score. Andrew Cohen broke the deadlock for Hibernians following by a counter attack with a Sultana's effort ending just wide. Ndubisi Chukunyere doubled the score for Hibernians followed by a Sultana's shot which kept rolling on goal line, miraculously not ending in. Another Sultana's shot went wide and at the end Ndubisi Chukunyere scored a dubious goal for a final score Hamrun 0 Hibernians 3.
